Microgram Level NMR Analysis Now at XBL Including Radiochemical Services for Limited/Metabolite Samples

Plainsboro, NJ, July 7, 2008 - XenoBiotic Laboratories, Inc. (XBL) has enhanced its world-wide services with the recent addition of 500 MHz NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) spectroscopy. These services include special handling and analytical services for 14C- and 3H-radiochemical samples. NMR spectroscopy is a well-established technique used to obtain molecular structure information of potential metabolites, degradants and impurities. The recently installed Bruker 500 MHz NMR spectrometer is equipped with probes for 1H, 13C, 19F, and 15N needed for analysis in 1D or 2D (COSY, NOESY, HMQC, HMBC, etc.) experiments. Traditionally, milligram levels of samples have been preferred to obtain routine NMR spectral data. XBL's new service offering will provide detailed NMR analysis from sub mg samples, including levels ≤10 µg. Capillary NMR analysis is also available for mass-limited samples (< 10 µg) and inquiries are welcomed.

XBL has extensive experience in isolation, purification and identification of metabolites, impurities, and degradation products suitable for NMR and MS analysis. XBL is NRC licensed to work on radiolabeled compounds (14C, 3H) and thus can also provide NMR analyses on radiolabeled samples meeting minimum mass requirements.

The addition of in-house NMR services is another example of how XBL continues to offer the latest advances in technology to enhance its core services in the bioanalytical, ADME, and metabolism profiling areas available to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, animal health and agrochemical industries.
